Les Doigts de l'Homme

Ever heard of gypsy jazz? A lot of people haven’t. It’s a very eclectic fast-paced rhythmic guitar style coined by Django Reinhardt. (Listen to some Django here if you’ve no idea who he is.)

Les Doigts de l’Homme (French for “The Fingers of Man“) play this genre and take it to the next level with an impressive melodic display of musical prowess.

Unfortunately they don’t have many videos so you’ll have to feast on the Grooveshark widget above, but here’s some:

Their latest album is (sadly) only available on Amazon UK and is geographically restricted so if you live in the UK you’re in for a treat and if you don’t, you’re out of luck. (Sucks, I know; and people wonder why piracy exists when things like this happen.)

You can, however, purchase their awesome previous albums on iTunes and non-geo-restricted Amazon.

What is this?

Every week I am going to tell you about a lesser known music artist or band that I think sounds pretty awesome. Essentially, I want to share with you my love for music.
